Introduction to the Grief Recovery Method with Julie Blitzer

The Grief Recovery Method (GRM) is an action-oriented educational program designed to help grieving people complete the pain, isolation, and loneliness caused by a death, divorce, or other types of losses. GRM was created in the 1980s by a griever, John James who suffered several significant losses and struggled to find a way to relieve his emotional hurt. The GRM Institute offers the program around the world and has helped countless people re-discover the ability within themselves to transform the quality of their life after experiencing a loss.

The group program meets once a week for eight weeks. The meetings offer participants an opportunity to share their feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment so that they can take the steps to heal. Participants are required to complete reading and homework assignments that involve guided reflection on their losses and relationships.

Julie Blitzer is a Grief Recovery Method (GRM) Specialist, mom, and community builder. She founded Authentic Matters ( as a vehicle to offer personal coaching, movement and meditation classes, and self development programs for women. She is dedicated to helping people realize the highest version of themselves, and has found that GRM is a powerful tool for healing along that journey.
